BARKLAGE RACING SEEKING A STRONG POINTS FINISH FOR 2006

With the 2006 race season winding down, the young Barklage brothers, Zach and Cody, are seeking to end the year winning. After a tremendously successful year with 19 year old Cody Barklage, the brother duo will compete side-by-side for the final AMS Staff Leasing / RPM Depot Pro Mod Challenge of 2006.

With the stage set in at the Strip in Las Vegas , Nevada , for the AC Delco NHRA Nationals. Still seeking their first national event win, Barklage Racing feels they have what it takes to bring home a big win.

“We went out and did some testing last weekend and we got the car running really good,” said Cody Barklage. “Hopefully, we can keep the same momentum going this weekend. During the test session, I ran my career best at 6.02. The car felt really good, and I think we now have a combination that could bring home a win. I really think we have things sorted out. We brought on a local grocer chain, Albertson’s for the weekend; I want to show them and the rest of our sponsors how well we can race.”

“I think we have my car lined out,” added Zach Barklage. “I’m hoping we got all the bugs worked out and we can go out and qualify this weekend. My brother Cody has done well this year, and I hope we can both go rounds. We came out here to go rounds, we’re here at our last NHRA event of the year, so we always hope for the best. We’ll just have to go out there tomorrow and see what happens.”

Although the season is days from being history, the team is hoping to gain ground in the points. With 2006 being such a competitive year, Cody Barklage has the opportunity to advance in the top 10.

The AC Delco NHRA Nationals is the 10th of 10 races for the AMS / RPM Depot Pro Mod Challenge.

Barklage Racing would like to thank Albertson’s, Goodyear Tires, Lucas Oil, Goodson Tools, Taylor Cable, Torco Race Fuel, Master Formula, Pit Mat USA, Moreland Well Drilling, Weld Wheels and NGK Sparkplugs for their continued support.
