I just got off the phone with Bret Williamson after getting a call today from Doc Conroy. Don Williamson passed away this morning after a courageous battle.

He was a great friend, competitive racer and an all around nice guy. Gonna miss his laugh and sense of humor.

May God bless the Williamson family during this difficult time.

This is a shock to me. I have known Don for over 50 years I used to give him a ride in my service truck to Miles Trucking where he could ride with his dad, Rod learning the trucking business. He bought his own truck and hauled out of my rock quarry for years. We both had 409 Chevys and ran each other many times, tying to beat each other but were always good friends. A bunch of us ran out of Goodies Speed Shop in San Jose Over the years at National, Divisional and Nostalgia races, we always managed to find some time to talk about trucking, racing etc. I'm sure going to miss him. My sympathy goes out to Rick and Bret. RIP
