DON SCOTT OF ROCKWALL, TEXAS, SELECTED AS SECOND NAPA AUTO PARTS HONORARY CREW MEMBER AT FALL NATIONALS

ENNIS, Texas (Sept. 21, 2008) – Don Scott, 49, of Rockwall, Texas, was selected as the 22nd NAPA AUTO PARTS Honorary Crew Member of the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series season and the second at the 23rd annual NHRA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex. Scott is the owner of Dwight and Don's Auto Care in Mesquite, Texas.

Because of the large number of NAPA AUTO PARTS stores in the Dallas area, two NAPA AUTO PARTS Honorary Crew Members were chosen for this event, the first time this season two honorees were named at a single event. The winner on Saturday was selected from an independently-owned store and today's winner from a company-owned store.

"This was a very exciting day," said Scott, who was attending his first NHRA national event. "I've never experienced anything like this and it was a huge thrill for me. It was great to meet the team and be here with all of the NAPA people."

Scott's crew-member duties included helping move the NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car to the staging lanes in the team's Dodge Durango tow vehicle for the first round of eliminations. He also helped retrieve the car at the end of the track following driver Ron Capps' run. Scott also met the entire NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car crew, received a NAPA team jersey, and had an up-close-and-personal view of the NAPA crew as the team worked on the car. He also enjoyed a private tour of the team transporter and pit area, and was a special guest in the NAPA hospitality area throughout the day.

"We did a promotion through all of our NAPA AUTO CARE Centers." explained John Biernacki, wholesale manager for NAPA AUTO PARTS in the Dallas market, which includes 155 NAPA AUTO CARE Centers and 130 NAPA AUTO PARTS stores. "We had two brackets, one for the company-owned stores and one for the independent NAPA customers. The contest covered a four-month period beginning in June. We started out with the top 16 in sales and worked all the way down to the top two before we decided a winner."

NAPA AUTO PARTS distribution centers at each NHRA event during the season use different criteria for choosing the persons who are potential NAPA AUTO PARTS Honorary Crew Members.
