It is certainly much better for him to drink than a sugar laced energy drink. Numerous medical studies have shown the damage energy drinks do to the heart. Ask any doctor...they'll tell you to never drink another one.

I mean how big a deal is it really...yeah they sponsor the series, but they dont sponsor Matt Hagan. What would it matter if he said, "I like Rockstar better than Full Throttle, Gatorade more than PowerADE, and Mountain Dew more than Mello Yellow." What if any implications would there be? They may not be fond of it, but they can't tell him what to drink. Just like they can't make every driver sip full throttle. They don't own the Drivers and Teams, they just sponsor the platform.

I understand that and you may wanna be grateful to coke and the products, but some of this is like beer. A life long Budweiser drinker is not ever going to like Coors light. Matt Hagan runs in the series they sponsor, but I don't see this have any negative implications. If Coke ever sponsored a team it wont be him.

Except Powerade isn't an energy drink...it is a sports drink just like Gatorade...Full Throttle on the other hand....

If you really believe that Patrick, go to work on a pro team and try it. You are correct, they cannot MAKE you drink their product, but whatever you are SEEN drinking while at the track had better be branded correctly. If you drink something else, put it in the ol' red solo cup, or cover the can with a paper towel. I am not talking sportsman, but the big wig teams. At JFR, we were told to not have anything but Coke products in the coolers. Even Dasani water bottles. That's what the boss wanted, that's what he got. I guarantee the Don said something to Hagan if he heard it.
