Diamond Dave Miller by Brian Lohnes (3 Viewers)

Awesome video (aren’t they all??) I absolutely loved that car.

As Brian stated in the video, the car is at Big’s place awaiting restoration.

These photos were sent to me a couple of years ago by my friend Mike, who works at the museum.

Once at Firebird, Dave beat Darrel Gwynn. That was a big upset. BTW, Garlits ran a shorty car for a bit, around 1972, said it was too twitchy & sold it. Diamond Dave's car went straight.
I think that shorty was either the precursor to his Jocko bodied streamliner, or just the streamliner without the body.

I saw The Shorty run a OCIR PDA meet. Broke on Friday night. Big thrashed all day Saturday. Lost first round. Got back in on the (then) Break rule. Won second round .But pulled out due to being too much of a handful to drive. Herm Peterson won T/F over Carl Olsen. Whipple and Mr Ed won over a wild mid track wheelie of Gary Burgin in FC. Great race went well into the night.

Fun fact met Dave coming out of a comedy club show performed by Sid Seeley's daughter who was a second City graduate can't remember the name of the show or Sid's daughter's name Sid ran in the UDRA top fuel circuit
