[coverattach=1](3-4-2009) LAGUNA HILLS, California – On the brink of the 2009 drag racing season, team-owner and driver Danny Rowe has more than just racing to be excited about this season: a new partnership with Sterling Bridge of Calgary, Alberta, Canada being the main one. Sterling Bridge will partner with Danny Rowe Racing throughout the course of 2009 as a major associate sponsor of the team’s Pro Modified 1967 Chevy Camaro.
“Sterling Bridge is very excited to move into the drag racing arena,” said Keith Prosser, president and CEO of Sterling Bridge. “Teaming up with Danny Rowe Racing was an obvious move in our eyes, as the performance and professionalism of his operation is second to none in his category. Beyond our interest in the racing audience, our sponsorship role with top-level racers like Danny Rowe has become a point of pride for our company and our employees. It sends a positive message to the public that we’re involved with motor sports.”
Danny Rowe and team rallied to pull off a fantastic finish to the 2008 racing season, securing positions in the Top 5 of the NHRA Pro Mod Challenge points series with both team cars. Rowe looks to capitalize on the progress made last season to put together a world championship season in ’09.
“We are very, very excited about this season,” said Rowe. “I can’t stress that enough. We’re really looking forward to getting back out to the track and going drag racing. Our plans for this season are undetermined, as we’re not entirely sure which series we will follow, but we are lucky enough to have a few great options for Pro Modified racing this year and we’re going to let things fall into place over the course of the next few weeks.”
Rowe continued, “Having the support of Keith [Prosser] and Sterling Bridge this year will be critical to our success. There is no lack of serious competition these days, and no matter where we decide to go racing – we’re going to have our hands full. Having the right marketing partners in our corner is of utmost importance. Our plan for this upcoming season is to focus on each event, take them one by one, and avoid letting ourselves get caught up in our position in the points.”
