Dang, that was a bad looking crash

I've not seen any mention of how close this wreck was to being much worse.
Notice when the car comes over to the left wall for the second hit. A track worker had already opened the gate in order for the safety crews to enter the track. If the car would have hit that wall a couple car lengths farther down track. It would have drove directly into the end of the wall.

I wouldn't know good photography if it came up and bit me in the ass, but your stuff on that FB link is magnificent. i have to give each poetic pic some time to enjoy and appreciate.

I may be a little late with this but who builds Pittman's engines? Did I hear KB Racing?

Yes. And they showed on the ESPN coverage that the KB folks came over and covered up the top-secret manifold the second the Safety Safari removed the front end. Oh, the KB guys and their secrets...

Glidden did that at Atlanta in '86 after his big wreck in the semi's...... these guys work long hours and spend a lot of $$$ for every single HP, so any hint or clue that might be obtained by a prying eye in an opportune time needs to be avoided.

I see what you mean:

Order for Qualifying Round 4

Gotta protect that 3hun deficit on the field...

Denver is probably not the best place to judge performance ... Wasn't that long ago KB debuted a new car and had both cars in the Finals of that race. Wanna bet against them winning another Championship?

Anyway you care to slice it, KB Racing is the class of the Pro Stock field and the Championship will go through them.

AJ had 3hun on the KB cars in Norwalk and Joliet, and 4hun on them in Bristol. But sure, whatever you say...

I like AJ ... And I am all for parity in the class ... But it seems year over year, this year included, KB Racing is the one team you can count on to take down a bunch of Wally's and be there when the points are counted at Pomona 2. It is great that AJ is running well, I am just not ready to start engraving any trophies.

Performance advantages, no matter how impressive, are fleeting and KB Racing has weathered many challengers before.

Fine, whatever. This was a discussion about them hiding their "secrets" because of their performance advantages. My point was "what performance advantage?" That's it.
