Why do I laugh everytime I hear that said... The three Floppers in this thread look no more like their stock counterparts than today's floppers look like the blobs you see on the street today...

I have problems telling Pro Stocks apart... but then, I can't tell one street car from another. The only exceptions being the Mustang and the Challenger.

One More Time... Funny Cars have Never looked like street cars, but that's why they are called Funny Cars.

The barn doors on the rear are there for safety on the newer style cars, no they are there to go faster with more downforce. If they what to slow the cars down take the doors off the rear and put on a roof that would cover more than a small dog house!Go back to the 85 style of car.Fast cars cost more and more and more and more.If some of the racers did not price themself out of the game, there would be more cars to race next year!!!!!GOOD SHOW is what I want to see, not a race to the moon.Back when this all started the car had to be with 25% of the real car cast from.We now have flying door stop shape cars.Vent, vent, vent breath and stop.By the way anymore pictures of the 85 Pulde car???James:D:D:D:D

In my opinion, 93-94 was the last era of cars that looked ok before things got out of hand. Several new bodies came out during that span, and It was the last of the real true looking bodies.

Pontiac came out with the new Firebird in 93
The Avenger came out in 94
The Mustang (Smokin Joes) came out in 94
Oldmobile/Lumina was still around, and re-done.

Plus they were still running the Daytonas and stuff also.

Just my .02

Was that the car that the rock band RATT sponsored for a while? I remember being at Indy with Della Woods and those guys were there. That was a pretty bold move for back then, for a band to want to get involved in racing like that. I wonder what kind of money was involved with that deal. But I whole- heartedly agree about the older styles vs. todays cookie-cutter molds. Funny Cars had thier own unique identity and look.

I remember Joan Jett and the Blackhearts sponsoring one, too. Also one by the wrestler Dusty Rhodes (spelling?)
