Custards last stand !

I'm a nice guy but enough is enough ! I'm dying here people ! I need help [ some say in more ways than one ] but never less I have been a good dude and lost 40 lbs but the Doctor says you gotta loose 30 more !

The Rub ! I can't sleep because when I close my eyes I see a table covered with warm Custard Pies !!!!!!!!

When I was a young Phart hanging out at the Beach at Port Aransas Tx. creating debauchery at will and terrorizing the folks with my Hot Rod or my Triumph [ depending on availability of alchol ] the last [ or the first ] store to the beach was a small store with a sign that said CUSTARDS LAST STAND and if you knew when to go there you could obtain fresh warm Custard !!!!!

The Rub Finish : Someone please send me a reciepe for some good No Sugar Custard or somewhere in D/FW I can get some.

Port Aransas is great! We own a house there on Tarrant street a few blocks from the old "Circle K (now Stripes). We try to get down there every couple of weeks, even during the winter for ship spotting with the kids on the pier at the end of Station street near the Coast Guard.

Or buy a box of corn starch and they usually have a recipe for Natillas on the back. Same thing.

I'm not a fan of custard.

Larry, what type of custard are you looking for? Creme Brulee is a type of custard, as is Flan, and Natillas as Jenn mentioned. Banana pudding is also considered a type of custard, and the lemon part of lemon meringue pie. Old fashioned vanilla, rice, chocolate? Give me an idea of what flavor custard you are looking for, maybe I can help.

Yeah Tim I've been a Port A fan since I was a Kid .
Except for all the new laws.
Its cleaner now than ever before going back let us say , a long time.

Could be like Santa Barbara Bay drilling actually cleans up the beaches by drilling the oil wells it's relieving the pressure that makes the oil leak to the surface and on to the beaches.

I'm hearing the Tarpon are returning to the western Gulf in larger numbers once again.

Would like to have gone floundering Instead of acting like an Idiot all around North Texas as I'll bet it's in full swing.

Corn starch is forbidden so I guess maybe I'll brew up something with splenda in it but it would seem the resape would go all to Hell's since splenda's sparse granular amount would not be the weight or consistency of sugars glue like properties and measurements would go all to Hell's.

Since I'm not a cook but a gearhead I could easily be wrong.

I'll be at the Rosa's restaurant in Hurst on Precinct Line road for a Corvette show and bench racing get together Wed at 7 pm .
Last week there was a 634 HP twin turbo Lingenfelter awesome ride there and another 20 + cars .
I thought my 450 HP would put me up there but in all there was enough GM horsepower to pull the whole restaurant down the street.

E gads there are a bunch of Horsepower Idiots around here no wonder I feel at home.

Larry, I will post the recipe on Mater this evening. BTW, Splenda is 1:1 ratio with sugar. 1 cup = 1 cup, etc. For baking it should be fine.

Ummm, btw, did I tell you my favorite drive fast is going up Pilar canyon, or down... Oh, and US Hill, another nice curvy road.

Texas, I know... and my drives aren't. Palo Duro though, my Aunt Jane (God rest her soul) loved to go there & paint. It is north of here I believe and on my list of must sees as well. Why do people have to make straight roads? And what the heck is it with road crews making off camber curves lately. Have they forgotten about banking? Love good curves that are well banked. What can I say? I don't live in fear.

Splenda, baking isle, comes in packages up to a pound I think. A little box (not a box of packets) should do you & shouldn't be too much. You're welcome.

Oh Larry, Larry, Larry! My Mutha is the best "HOUSE CHEF" EVER!!! She made 3 pies on Thanksgiving and they were sugar free so that my Dad can enjoy dessert! She made a Lemon Meriunge Pie, Pumpkin Pie & Apple Crumb Pie! DEEEEEEELICIOUS!!! I will get the recipes from her and post it in the recipes section. Her crust is just amazing! KUDOS to Sue "O" for a wonderful meal!

I am going to re-write my recipe for my "Beat Yo Mama Mac & Cheese" to be a little more carb friendly. I will let ya know how it comes out. I feel confident that I can "build a better mouse trap" with this one! (no mice are included in this recipe!!! For the love of god!!!)

Well that would a be good Public service because the list of fat & old Maters , some are both grows everyday because as an old Rock And Roll song said "Time Waits For No One " so none of us unfortunately are backing up.

It never even entered my mind to use Splenda instead of sugar but I have seen the bulk boxes finally.

The Aspartame/ Equil currently used in diet stuff is not so good for you so the Dr's recommend Splenda instead.

I could not tell the difference between Splenda and real sugar in any way .
