Was interested to hear what respectable tuners, on fuel, were on the sidelines for 2009..to date?

IMHOP, a real interesting question.

Like my (now retired) businessman brother says, hard times allow you to eliminate the deadbeats, flakes, etc.

Which should leave the a market of QUALITY unemployed crew people from top to bottom-(Get the humor about BOTTOM? Divers!) oh, and dRivers too, out there.

Provided those now unemployed humble themselves a bit I.E. : accepting playing second fiddle, lower compensation, etc. the owners who can afford to should be able to assemble some awesome teams.

I think one of the most talented tuners out there, Mike Kloeber, is far from being a deadbeat, although I know your comment wasn't directed at him, just a comment in general.

Mike will be joining the staff at CompetitionPlus.com as a writer and his first topic, a nearly year-long assignment, Nitro 101 ... stay tuned, it's gonna be a learning experience.

Looking forward to this nitro 101 , I have been wanting someone to write an article about the ins and outs of nitro motors for ages . Though I want to read an article that says why every part is set up the way it is and how all the fuel and clutch systems works and pretty much every little detail in a really technical way . Though thats probably asking a bit much but at least someone is finally writing an article on the ins and outs of the black art .

Kloeber is one of the best and I am sure he will be tuning someone very soon.
Tuning the first funny car to 300 mph w/ a low budgeted team catches my attention as well as the list of top notch teams he has worked for. And any combo he touches produces instant success!

Actually Bobby is gathering the future Competitionplus.com fuel team. He has his driver (some guy who writes a column called 'from the bleachers'), and now crew chief in Mike Kloeber! I look forward to the education from him. He is really a very sharp guy.!
Hmmm hey Mike Ashley, how about a 2nd top fuel car?

Minick's gonna take over writing the column?

Heard that KP has joined forces with one of the "Unemployed" drivers and is shopping for a sponsor to field their own team. Wasn't much time from Vegas until now to sign a big name sponsor, but I hear they are very close
