It shouldn't be difficult to understand, she wants to be known as Courtney Force, not Graham Rahal's girlfriend. Meaning she's more than just Rahal's girlfriend.

The funny part is, she's been a lot more successful than he has. If anything, the standard statement should be "He's Courtney Force's boyfriend"

unfortunately for drag racer media exposure is almost an afterthought for the mainstream. The name rahal means much more to the masses. It is a joke, (especially when you see the spectator count in indy car racing) and the Force team does more to get exposure than anyone. It is frustrating for them, but don't look for a change anytime soon.
Lee, in that case yes as he is a legend, although she still wants to make a name for herself.
With the BF, she is BY FAR the more accomplished driver of the two. I can see her getting annoyed by it, especially at Drag Races. At his stuff, it makes sense. But not at hers.

Robert Hight earned his stripes on low funded teams long before you ever heard his name on ESPN.

I don't doubt that Greg. BUT we would have never heard of him had he not become Mr. Adria Force, John Force's son-in-law. He certainly wouldn't have been a flopper driver and President of JFR. Don't get me wrong, I like Robert Hight just fine, seems like a nice enough dude and by all accounts does a good job, but let's not pretend it is something it isn't.

Right ... But the lynchpin is marrying Adria Force. I do not doubt that Robert would have carried on doing a good job being a crew guy for any team that he worked for and advanced his career in a conventional manner. But the seat and then the presidency doesn't come unless he is family. The fact that he does a good job just made it easier for all parties involved.

Right, but Zippy was the crew chief that ended Force's dominance and Force wanted him. He got Zippy by offering him something that DSR couldn't ... a seat in a race car.
While we are at it, Gary Densham, Eric Medlen and TPed didn't date a Force girl either, which is not the point of the thread.

Haha ... You are right. I was trying to be positive about dating/marrying one of John's daughters, but I think I am coming off as bashing Robert or JFR, and I want to assure everyone that is not the case.
