under the old point system lucky dave is trailing by 128!!!!!!!! so id say hes damn lucky isnt he. it seems everyone doesnt like the new points until it comes to GA not winning the championship. a lot of hypocrites on this site. hate to say it but its true. we will see when the year is done and whos in 1st under the old system and thats the REAL champs!

It's time for yoou guys to get a GRIP !! The old system is GONE and it's not coming back !! Which is a shame as this system SUCKS ! So live with it and the results ! And Greg being aloof and arrogant ! That won't change either...

Don't bet the farm on that one. I for one, will be very surprised if the countdown, chase, sham, whatever, is back next year.

Dave got lucky when Druzilla needed a driver and got the job. I don't care about the Countdown one way or the other but it's nice to see GA look over and shake his head when he sees "Lucky" out front.

I hope your right, as much as I'd like to see the countdown gone altogether, I think it will be back with modifications. My guess (and that's all it is) is that they will keep the chase format, do away with the second beheading and instead of there being 8 cars in the chase I could see them adding two cars per class to bring it up to 10. It also wouldn't surprise me to see them award bonus points for races won during the first 17 races. I don't think they will get rid of the chase, because I can't see them admitting they made a mistake. If they tweak the chase then it will allow them to save face. We'll have to see what happens

When they could be covering the crews working on the cars or other more interesting stuff. And maybe some WHEEL STANDING Super Stocks and Stocks !! A little variety would be great !!

I have to agree. They make the races between non-countdown racers practically irrelevant...at least Paul Page does. I loved it when Mel won! Congrats to my pals Stew and Lance.

Remember back when they would show the finals in ALL the categories? Also thought that showed the "layman" viewer the variety of the sport.
