Such mixed feelings watching this final, Beyond happy for Doug to finally get his Championship, But being a Leah Pruitt fan Im sad she and Tony Stewart didn’t get it.

I bet dang near every drag racing fan is happy to see Doug finally get his first championship.
The man earned it. He has been through so many ups and downs, often things beyond his control.
When The Run spoiled his chance at the title, he didn’t whine or complain. He just stayed steady and finally pulled it out today.
Congrats to that entire team.

I'm a grown man and I teared up when Doug won. Nothing against Leah. It would've been a great story with a TSR double up. However, it's wonderful to see Doug get his reward after so many years of racing.

I've got the same emotions right now that I had when Del won in Scott's car back in 2015. To see Doug finally get his championship and to finally get to put the #1 on his wing next year is amazing. And to see the huge smile on Connie's face while being surrounded by a massive crowd may have made my eyes water. Today was a great day to be a fan.

Agree with all these comments. ’The Run’ stands out in my mind as one of the key moments in motorsports and we all watched the blood drain from Doug’s face that day. He’s a really class act and deserves this. And isn’t this full circle …. AJ tuned the run, right?
