I think my avatar sums up how I feel. Congrats, Jack! I couldn't be happier.

At Charlotte in April, he had run something like a 4.09 in qualifying, and I went up to him in the pits and said "Hey, that's pretty good for an R and D car." The look he gave me was priceless. I really think that's about how he felt at the time. Who could have blamed him. Sure did work out in the end, though.

I was rooting for Jack to win it but was rooting for Courtney and Cruz to take them both out in the semis. And it couldn't have turned out better! Really happy for Todd Smith. Well deserved

I do not feel sorry for Fast Jack one bit. He still has a ride with one of the best teams in drag racing. He still has sponsors. He has the full support of his owner pledging to get it fixed for him. My money says he will still make the Countdown. He will be fine ...

I posted that on April 29, after the whole "team swap". Sometimes, I am amazed at how smart I am.

In all seriousness, congrats to Fast Jack and Todd Smith and that whole Valvoline (nee NAPA) crew.

Also, tip of the cap to Don Schumacher. He said he would make it right by Fast Jack, and he did. Double tip of the cap for not trying to manipulate the outcome of any of the races down the stretch and letting the chips fall where they may.
