Congrats to Fred Tigges and crew for making Indy TAFC Final

Fred's first final at any National or Divisional. They gave it a good shot but not many are gonna beat Manzo when he's running in the 5.40's. The mater's own Doug Palmer is the clutch guy on that car.

Even Bob Frey gave him a mention on the telecast. Nice work Doug and crew!

That team can be proud of their effort.

Sorry DP, next time buddy. I was pulling for yall so hard. No shame in loosing to the Legend though.

he has nothing to be ashamed of. getting to the final eound at Indy is something in itself

I saw DP several times over the weekend, from the time they got in with a 5.74, then stepped up to a 5.66 and bettered that Sat Morning with the 5.58! Great job for Team Tigges' first time at Indy!

They are some nice, nice people. We're very happy for them, they've worked really hard for that performance this weekend.

Good for Doug Too, hey Joe, how come you didn't call me so I could say hi to Him? LOL (j/k)

Also, thank you to Joe Sherwood for the Alky play by play, he is kind enough to call me at Every National Event when Alky is running, and that's a really special thing to do, I appreciate it more than you know, especially because we've been side lined for a couple of years now. (which is coming to an end finally Woo Hoo!! ) :-)

Thanks for all the kind words everyone it was an awesome weekend!
Let me first thank Fred, Mark and Claire for asking me to be a part of their family, it is an honor to help such wonderful people and I am having a blast! I've been around these cars for a while and I can tell you all that some may work as hard but there is nobody that works harder on a race car than Fred and Mark Tigges they literally live this stuff every day, and it was really a privilege to be a beneficiary of all of their years of hard work this weekend. How about three 5.50 passes from a car that was built "in house" (Fred and Mark) and has a ten year old Avenger body on it that has had several owners previously. With the weather conditions being as they were, the equipment that they are using, and the budget they operate with, what these guys did this weekend borders on the miraculous. It is a real testimony to there tuning and fabrication skills. The scary thing is that we hurt no parts all weekend and we can all see room for improvement without getting stupid with the tuneup.
I also want to give kudos to my fellow crew members Dave Burch, John Pickett, Melissa Coleman, and of course Chelsea, you all busted your butts this weekend and it's a pleasure to work alongside all of you. Sorry I am gonna miss E-town this coming weekend, see you all at the Grove! Doug
