Clint Thompson Takes on Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park (1 Viewer)

(Chandler AZ) Clint Thompson had an up and down weekend in Phoenix at the newly christened Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. Clint was on the pole after the first two rounds of qualifying Friday at the Lucas Oil Regional with a 5.63 at 253 MPH. But after the dust settled and the rain began to fall on Saturday night, Clint had moved down to the 4th spot on the ladder keeping lane choice for Sundays eliminations.

With the overnight rainfall, eliminations would be anything put predictable and ripe with upsets. In round one, Clint took on Colorado’s Terry Ruckman who qualified fifth with a 5.65 at 257 MPH so it looked to be a competitive race. But at the hit Clint smoked the tires and Ruckman sailed on to round two with a 5.66.

Next stop for Thompson Racing will be back to back races at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a Lucas Oil regional race March 21- 23 followed by the Nationals March 27 - 30.
