My boyfriend is spending Christmas with us and I hate shopping for him. One, he never says "I want a...." Two, he's not into racing (yet!). Three, he's getting set to deploy in a month and most things are going to set in storage anyway.

The problem with him is that when he sees something he wants, he just buys it if he can afford it.

Any ideas?

How much $$ are you looking to spend? Something sentimental or useful?

I'm like him.... I see it, I want it, I got the money, I buy it...

Having said that, Get him a BIBLE, one that can take rough use, if he's deploying... It's the Thought, not the Thing...

From the Heart Jenn, that's what's its all about...

I'm budgeting 50 bucks. I'd rather give something useful but that's just the way I am. He's more mushy than I am. :p

just a few suggestions: DVD box set (I bought Two and a Half Men and McGyver for gifts) Barnes and Noble gift card (let him pick his own stuff), NHRA shirt (can't start him too soon)

Mushy - name a star after him - International Star Registry, then when he's deployed you can both "connect" under the star. Wow that is mushy..

A BIBLE!!! That's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that?!?! We are Catholic, he's a Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

I'll have to see if he's got a nice one.

We've known each other for 10 years and dating for over a year.

DVD box set sounds good...He likes history movies but not documentaries, I'll have too look. He makes my head hurt.

Pocket watch. Picture of you on the inside cover. Done.

Merry Christmas, Ninji and Tom!!!

A leatherman/gerber multi tool if he doesn't already have one or two. dvd set of his favorite shows, huge for downtime in the sandbox. Check out this site it might give you a few ideas Brigade Quartermasters - outdoor and military survival gear. its cold in the sandbox until March and then it gets silly hot until November. If he likes a sport team see if you can find shirt the color of his ACU/BDU/Cami T-Shirt with their logo so he can wear it under his uniform.

Alright y'all. Thanks for the suggestions and not only did you help me out but you helped my family out so they got him something too.

I got him a nice compact little leather bound Catholic Bible, which gave my mom the idea to get him a leather Bible cover/bad. Which lead to suggesting that my niece got him little Bible Labels (Try teaching a nine year old to budget!).

My sister in laws and brothers got him a leatherman like knife since he likes to whittle things and DVDs for the "Both of us".

I think I'm gonna keep that link D sent me handy for his birthday. I know I'll be in the same hard spot I am now in finding something for him!

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Wrapping Christmas Presents and Decking the Halls! We went out to dinner with Tom's Godfather and I got home late. Tom got home even later because he had to drive up to the Base.

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas Jenn,
Here's a couple of other links, for when his birthday rolls around U.S. Cavalry - Proudly Serving Military and Law Enforcement Professionals
Ranger Joe's Military and Law Enforcement Gear, bdu's, police,uniforms,swat,insignia,knives,rucksacks,gore-tex,flashlights,nomex,camping supplies, survival supplies Also keep Amazon in your hip pocket, I'd get stuff from them faster than I would get regular mail when I was in the sandbox.
