Chris McGaha Interview - Hot Rod Network

How do you think Ford would do if they could run a 500 cube dual overhead cam motor? Isn't the 4 valve head design superior than 2 valve cam in block?

Rules say no OHC engines, just OHV. Maybe NHRA should consider that. They went to fuel injection because no cars today with carbs. Well all engines today are SOHC or DOHC, so why not?

Very well, this is where all the crying starts between manufacturers..........theres is better its not fair

Well look at PSM when they were running 4 valve heads and a manufacturer cried the blues on an unfair advantage so NHRA decided to take 2 steps back in time and make it mandatory to only run 2 valves per cylinder.

I would love to see variety in pro stock.... various mfr's, turbo 6's, supercharged small-blocks, N/A big blocks for the nostalgic, etc.

Too bad that the class has probably went beyond the point of no return for it to matter. :(

Years ago, IHRA ran their Pro Stock class. They let Buddy Ingersoll run with a turbo Buick V-6, and he got to the final. Other racers protested so much that Buddy's car was outlawed. Can you see that today? A turbo V-6, around 220 CI, running aganist the 500" Chevys? "Camry wins Pro/S with turbo V-6". Altho, I DO like the idea of blown V-8 vs turbo V-6. Like a mini Pro Mod class.
