Charlie Proite had a stroke recently and is now passed. Back in the day I used to watch his Dodge Charger funny cars all over the mid-west. He was still active in the sport and was at the reunion in Kentucky. Everybody liked him. Hate that another pioneer is gone.

Always loved the show he put on at the starting line with his driver.
We don't have 32 car fields on earth anymore because all the greats are moving up above.

No he has not! From GLD two hours ago:
"Our good friend Charlie Proite is still hanging in there. He is resting comfortably tonight. He is no longer on any type of life support. Charlie is on a morphine drip so he is comfortable and is not experiencing pain. His family is close by. Prayers are still needed for Marc Proite & Family. We will keep you posted.

At 2:45 on Dec 28th 2014 the good lord up above took Charlie Proite to the drag strip in the sky. RIP papa bear. I will always love you. You will be missed by many!
