Word going around Indy is that Jimmy Walsh is gone ...
Also a rumor that Lucas Oil is dropping the Kenny B sponsorship for next year...

When are the going to learn. They have changed everything they can except the one thing they need to and can't. Morgan Lucas

Unless he is driving it out of the groove, changing the burnout every run, giving late reactions, how does the driver make the car lose consistently? Have you noticed him doing any of the above? If yes then you have a point, if not then how did you come to that conclusion?

My gosh...how many crew chiefs/tuners have they terminated since the move to Top Fuel? That job is quickly becoming the worst tuning job in the sport....

They would be much better off to park their car and give the money they would have wasted on it to Kenny Bernstein. Kenny has been a tremendous ambassador for that company through the years. I'm sure KB would love a second car and the additional data. The resulting wins and public relations would be a tremendous gain for Lucas Oil.

Am I the only one that believes there's a bigger problem than the crew chief? Throughout all the different crew chiefs, they haven't performed to expectations and there's one constant - the rest of the Lucas team. Something is awry somewhere or they just have really bad luck.

Nice cheap shot at Morgan Lucas. Why don't YOU hand in your credentials to him if you think he sucks?

I don't think that was a cheap shot, I think that was stating the obvious. Ultimately it comes down to the guy behind the wheel. I'd use the example of Troy Coughlin vs Jeg Jr. Troy had access to all the same equipment, the same $$ and all the other resources. Who won more races? (waaaaaaay more) Was it because of some strange, invisible reason? No, Troy was a lousy driver, and I do believe the same thing is going on with Morgan. Sh*tpiles of money don't make you a good driver.

While I understand the analogy between Morgan and Troy, it's not a completely fair one, IMO. Both cars have their own idiosyncrasy's and while not quite apples & oranges, comparing the skill required to drive two completely different cars is tough.

Isn't the most obvious way to get a winning dragster to hire Alan Johnson and all his resources? Not to take a group of guys with the skill and desire to learn the ins and outs that over time might produce a winning team.

If I had all the money in the world and wanted a winning dragster that's what I'd do.. no skill or strategy involved on my part.

If I had all the passion in the world, I would do what Bode, Head, Greek, and Novelli do... work with what you got - would make winning that much better.

But I understand it's a business, so winning is everything... if the leader can't get it done then they aren't doing their job (uness theres some unknown underlying issue like lack of resources or something).

Morgan is an excellent driver. He came from the sportsman ranks and can drive anything, and do it well.

Jimmy Walsh can tune a car well also. Sometimes a chassis that doesn't mesh with a tuner will make both look bad. Example of this is Bernstein's car. They finally backhalved it and it came alive. Until then it was all over the place.

Morgan can definitely drive that car, he won lots of races driving his A Fueler.......

The issue with that team seems to be the lack of "Team Chemistry". For some reason they never seem to get it together, could very well be from the top. Maybe everyone is worried about job security given the history there, who knows. Kind of wierd because Stewart and Langdon seem to have it..........
