I was so glad to see them pull it off!
I've gotta go with the Phillies in the WS. My Grandfather is a HUGE Phils fan. He's in his 90's and in poor health. I have a feeling this will be his last chance to see them win the whole kit and kaboodle. So GO PHILLIES!
Kelly, my son Matt is pulling for the Phillies too. At the start of the playoffs, we did an office pool, and he correctly picked the Phillies and Rays to play for the World Series. He has the Phillies in 6 games. Amazingly, one guy has everything picked correctly so far and chose the Rays in 6 for the WS. Me, I had the Angels goin against the Cubs. I shoulda known better. Cubs never win.

as a hardcore yankee fan - I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! boston s***s! but on the other hand, tampa bay is georges hometown and the yankees other home, and dioneer navaro was our backup catcher we gave up on a few yeards ago, and carlos pena was our back up 1st baseman, so us yankee fans kinda got egg on our face, and for you met fans- scott kazmir- those 2 words make met fans sick. but ill go with the rays in 6! the a.l east will get it done again!

Don't worry ... the Yankees will wind up signing most of these players via free agency. The Rays have ZERO chance of keeping any of these players ... so the 7 or 8 actual Rays fans better enjoy it while they can. It's back to empty stadiums and 90 losses for them after this year ...
Right with ya, Jeff! Red Sox losing made my week!! I`m pulling for the Phillies in the Series though....the Rays ARE in the AL East after all.

Hey Jeff..........Tampa Bay is not a city. Tampa is. George has a home in Tampa. The Skankees play in George's stadium in Tampa during spring training. The Tampa Bay Rays are from St. Petersburg, FL (Part of Tampa Bay)
Hey Chris(Cook).........It will be 4 or more years before your "dream" of gobbling up our players through free agency can happen. Upton, Longoria, Crawford, Kazmir, Price, and several others are locked up. Do some research. These guys are gonna be good for awhile.

If the Red Sox suck, and they won the ALDS, and the World Series 2 of the last 4 years, then by your own standards the Yankees must REALLY REALLY suck??
(although I hear their golf game is improving by the minute)

It's not my "dream" to have players gobbled up by free agency ... it is just an economic reality of baseball in the 21st century. The rest of the majors are basically farm teams/proving grounds for 5 or 6 treams. IF all of those players are locked up for 4 years or more, well enjoy the ride while it lasts .... because as soon as they are eligible for free agency they are gone, which was my only point. My secondary point is that the Rays organization cannot develop and sustain a competitive team when the frickin' stadium is empty well into August when you are in first place.
I don't need to do any research, whether it takes 1 year or 4 ... they are all future Yankees, Red Sox, Angels and Cubs.
