The Good Ol' Days!
This was with the little 342 ci motor. Shortly after we update to the 392 ci version and ran well into the sevens!
Lots of great racing with names like Larry Dixon SR., Frank Pedregon SR., etc. Dave Hage was still driving for us then.
We won a couple of TF shows at The Pond that year too!

Article mentions Ed Sigmon, who ran that 1953 MG with a 427 Rat motor, out of Fiasco Automotive. He won Comp Elim at the 1969 Winternats with that car, & it was called Snarpeezel. Ed was asked how did he get the name, & he said he asked the painter to come up with something. Was a little animal w/ 5 feet, so it could run fast. Ed also won at the Last Race at Lions. I saw his MG at San Fernando a lot. Fiasco Automotive also ran a Chevelle with a Rat, & I think it ran low 11's or in the 10's at Fernando ET brackets. It ran Bracket 1, which was the fastest ET class then. (I ran Bracket 6, which was the slowest)

If is recall correctly I think Dixon ran a 7.40 something. Maybe Cliff will know, he is the grand imperial poo-bah of the internet search.
Also, my last job in California I worked for a business in Chatsworth, Cal. In the back of that building was Ed Sigmon's Air Conditioning company. Got to see him and talk drag racing almost every day. In that building, some on lifts, some not, was a very stout collection of killer rides.

I think Larry Dixon in the Fireside Inn AAF/Modified Roadster did get into the 6's & was the quickest ever for that class. Can anyone verify that? Did one of my infamous internet searches but nada..... I saw Dixon at San Fernando & it could have been his last AAF/MR, not the car with the flames on it. 1968-69 & I think that is the car that ran the "6".
