On 10.5" tires at SCSN!! What an incredible run! I was watching the livecast and the car looked to run straight as an arrow all the way down. Amazing run.

That's your new record, folks! Tim Lynch, watch out!

That car is amazing to watch in person. Saw him run it here in Pro Mod at Vegas 2 ... it is comical the lead he spots people off the line only to go whooshing past them at the top end. He was several car lengths behind at the 330' cone EVERY round and always got to the stripe first.

Exactly! I saw Brad do the same thing against Ed Hoover in Indy. The top-end charge on this car is insane. So fun to watch! The popping on the starting line before launch is almost like watching a jet car. Too fun!

No kiddin'. Brings back fond memories of watching Buddy Ingersoll freight train the boys in Comp eliminator back in the day.

On 10" tires...........................wow!

i like on tv when they show his run from the blimp, thats when you can really see his car takeoff

Well, the simple fact that his car is "different" (turbo) makes it a target for criticism from all the positive displacement and N20 cars that have ruled the roost in ProMod for years. I'll be pleasantly surprised if NHRA allows him to run with his present mechanical parameters for the 2011 racing season. If he ever gets the clutch figured out to the extent that he can 60-foot with the other cars, he'll be REALLY hard to beat!

I'd bet that there's a lot of "speculation" at NHRA about what to do regarding his last-half-of-the-track performances, as we speak.

Bill they are considering a rule change for the Turbo cars now.

I'm afraid he can work on his clutch from now on and never solve that problem, Bill....at slower speeds in lower gears, the load on the turbocharged hemi is small compared to what it is in high gear at 200MPH, where the turbos are straining against the taller ratio and comparatively extreme aerodynamic drag. Turbos, by their nature, produce far more power under load, since the energy source that drives them is the exhaust heat. Which is precisely why if you're not ahead of Brad at half track, you're in trouble.

Conway, Arkansas, eh? Most of my family lives in Damascus. Nice town; nice area. :)

One of my best friends (Non-racer, John Ward) is from Damascus... know any of the Ward family???

There are multiple ways to skin a cat, but I agree with evevrything you said about turbo motors. In some ways, they're like a fuel motor (thrive on being held back.)

I think that if NHRA wants to penalize him by restricting him to smaller turbos, then they should allow him the use of a T/F clutch arrangement so he can optimize his torque managment off the line. Then again, maybe a torque converter could be utilized (ala Mick Snyder or Bruno Massel) to minimze the lethargic way that car leaves the line.

There's gotta be a way....

What a sorry excuse! Someone remind BG if he can't compete in 1/4 mile racing, maybe he should stick to 1/8 mile!
