Did anyone else hear Paul Page say that Bob would have some words about his future plans? I was right after Billy's last run.

Anyone have any insight? I could speculate, but it wouldn't be worth much.

Yeah Dave, I heard it too. Sounds like Bob's feet are getting itchy again.
I sure wish he could pick up some big time funding and run his own team again with Rusty and Billy.

bob has proven he has personality issues as a car cheif/tuner ...great driver too dramatic (jegs/schumacher) turnin the wrenches....

It looks like it might be true.
This is from Billy Glidden post from today.

Actually thats not the entire post, but I suppose it is enough to be to the point. Bob Glidden is not at odds with anyone, but he does not want to be either. So he has used his previous adventures to his advantage, and has decided to remove himself from the situation, hoping that it may help the team improve? Dad takes every bit of the credit for their lack of winning, and I guess that should be good enough, we all have our opinions, and are free to express them, so let it fly, it will not change the result. Thanks, BG

Not here Bill.

They thought instituting the policy of using your real name, would limit people from expressing their opinions. It hasn't worked. They are still deleting and over moderating. And we still don't have anymore of the "Pro's" posting here than we did before. Whenever someone is inclined to "let it fly", stuff starts to vanish.

Do you know what your Dad's future plans are? Do you know if he still wants to be involved in NHRA Pro Stock racing? Do you think he has the ability to run a top flight program again? When I say ability, I am not just talking mechanical, I am talking about the whole package. I am not asking you to throw your Dad under the bus. I'm just wondering what the issues are that are holding him back. Or is nothing holding him back, other than it just being that darn tough out there in the Pro Stock world these days? A lot of people would LOVE to see your Dad involved in a top notch and successful Pro Stock program again.

I posted the relevent part from your post, since the rest of your post had to do with other items regarding your pro stock team.

I did not mean to take anything out of context. Just stating the facts.

Billy, Thanks for posting and answering my initial question, that is all I needed to know. Any details aren't really my busines, I was just wondering if it was true that Bob was no longer tuning Justin.

With all due respect.......

Are there any teams left that he hasn't already been a member of in the past few years?

I think all that is left is for him to form his own team.

It's time FORD............

It takes years to put a competitive Pro Stock team together. It's easily the most difficult class to compete in. When you jump from one employer/team to another it just makes it that much more difficult.

When Bob was heading up DSR's Pro Stock teams I read an interview where he said..."we want for nothing". That's a special opportunity...running a team, making all the calls and having the budget to purchase what you need to be competitive. The caveat in that effort was having the best pure driver in the sport, Jegg Coughlin.

Boy...hindsight sure is 20/20...

I think that Bob Glidden has the talent to run a successful team. The problem in this whole deal, well in my opinion, you have to have everyone wanting to do this as badly as yourself!! In darts operation, they do not have anyone working on this stuff, when we get back from a race, Bob Glidden drives 362 miles to dart, to work on the stuff that is either left there, or on the way back, and until that time, there is noone working on the prostock engines. I am not pointing at anyone, or telling anyone how to run their program, just answering the questions, OK? Dad says that except for the manifolds, these engines are the same they ran with when ricky, and tom were racing. I do not have any way to prove this, but richard says nothing to contradict, this? We worked there the entire winter, we stayed in a super 8 motel, we paid our own motel, we paid our own food all except for one meal. I was sucked into this whole deal, and I am a fool! It seems that we (Shannon, and myself) are going to recieve a negative from this whole deal, but noone twisted my arm, and noone forced me to do this, so I do however have to make 14 races because I was promised an awefl lot, and signed the release for making atleast 14 races, or I will lose my nhra license. This did happen to dwayne rice, and I have been reminded that it would happen! I will take my lumps and run the tire testing engines that I put together, live and learn, thanks, BG

Bob Glidden has worked with Mark Pawuk, and best I know recieved no pay, he worked with Steve Schmidt, and I also believe with no pay? He worked for Don s. and it was his job/life, they did win their last event with Jeggy. He has worked with larry morgan, and I do not know the particulars, but he did move to ohio, and was totally devoted, shoot he and larry talk alot, mostly by phone conversations. And he has worked with dart, Bob Glidden loves this stuff, and only wants to win, but if anyone has not noticed, winning is rough, shoot I can't even qualify, it takes money, people, and total commitment, not too many are equipped with all of this, thanks, BG

Bill,

Not trying to step on toes, but what about Justin in all of this?
The best I know, there are no problems with any of the Humpries and Dad. But he actually worked for richard. Dad has said he would be loyal to richard and was not planning on working for anyone else??? BG

I wasn't aware of the relationship and who is working for whom, thanks for clarifying that. Justin is a friend of mine so I am hoping for nothing but success for him. Having met Bob last year at the US Nationals he is a really nice guy as well and I hope that everything works out so that everyone can succeed. I would love to see Justin and Bob stay together and add you as a second car with some good horsepower under the hood.

Just to add my two cents here, Bob if I remember right was happily retired playing golf and enjoying life the best he could when someone drug him back into the sport. Being the person that a lot of us respect he only knows one way of doing things and thats wide open! I hope Bob retires and goes back to playing golf, because he has absolutely nothing left to prove to anyone in the sport and hopefully nothing to himself. He has been successful everywhere he has gone. Its hard just to qualify for these races let alone try to make the finals. Billy tell your dad that we hope that he enjoys his retirement and thank him for all the advice he has given me over the years.

Michael
