Yipes, I need to read the rule book closer. When did blowers become legal in comp other than the AT classes?

Whilst I plead ignorance, how big is the engine?

399 cu.in. @ approx. 2,000 hp. By upping the boost, it could run in the high 6's.
 
Yep it is definately an index buster :D They have it dialed back now and can take the hits but it will run out of boost sooner or later.

It's an AA/SM which is 6.0 per cu.in. with driver. 2394lbs min.:D

I read this today on nhra's site regarding AM in this year's updates to the rule book.

Classes: Replace class designation with, "AA/SM – 8.00 pounds per cubic inch."

That would be a brutal weight (3,200 lb.) to run the car at.

6.00 makes more sense, and a much safer weight.

Bring on the Pro 5.0 cars, 10.5" tire cars, and sport compact cars that fit!:D

Nothing wrong with index killers if they can get them to hook...every pass....

It becomes self policing after a few runs.:cool:

It is an 8.00 pound class, like you said. The rule revisions say so, and those are revisions to the 2006 rule book which states the class is 6 pounds. After the book was printed and a lot of initial arguing, NHRA changed it to 8 pounds. The class has a 2700# minimum weight anyway.
