Better With Each Race (2 Viewers)

These IHRA races are getting better with each event. I think they are really carving out their own niche in the drag racing world and providing a great alternative. It’s great to see some of the Nitro Chaos racers getting into the fray and winning some races like Ryan Hill in nitro altered on his first attempt in IHRA. Congratulations also to Hank Stubbs on his victory in outlaw pro mod. Great event.

I enjoyed the events at NT this year, missed 42, I can walk to NT and 42 is 1.5 hour drive. I know where I will be spending money next year. If IHRA can get thru a couple of years I think they will make a dent in NHRA. A little more level field for the lower budgets and bigger purses with better odds.

We still need more fuel cars being built or more coming over from NHRA. A five race series allows more guys to come to the majority of the races. With a 10 race series iin 2026, are teams like Wyatt, Creasy, Baldwin, and Joon going to be able to run all 10 events? If you only have 100K to spend, 5 events is tough but now 10 is almost impossible. Plus the events might be spread out a little bit more which will increase travel time and cost. It will be interesting to see how many nitro cars show up at Galot with the increased distance from the prior races.

The pro mod classes should continue to grow but at the expense of MWDRS and PDRA. The MWDRS has already seen a decline in the last few races.

I have always supported the IHRA. Including membership. I hope they promote the Injected Nitro class at 500 inches. Maybe a special purse for the first to run a 4.999

I read that there might be a merger between IHRA & PDRA at some point in the future. I don’t think the IHRA is trying to compete with the NHRA, I think they are trying to create their own niche. Personally I would like to see them push the alcohol program and build it up.

Overall I think that IHRA has had a pretty good turnout with cars considering the short notice schedule. Most teams had their season planned out before the schedule was released with the funding that had in their budget. I wouldn't be surprised if you will see a lot more in the alcohol classes next year.

This is what the racers who support the series wanted. Darryl has listened to the racers and most of his moves are backed by the racers themselves. He made it clear from the get go it was about the racers and making them happy

Drag racing needs everyone to succeed and both sanctioning bodies ran this weekend with great success so lets keep going forward..

I didn't say shut down NHRA I said a dent because low budgets will gravitate towards IHRA where they at least have a chance. Two successful bodies will grow the sport overall.
Although in all honesty I can not see NHRA fuel cars continuing on this pace of burning money, something has to give.

Had to miss this one because NHRA was also on. Time constraints make it difficult to watch both.
IHRA is doing a nice job with their announcing staff, but need to turn up the car audio. NHRA is even worse.
Car audio should drown out everything else.
When a race car is running there is nothing an announcer can add to the drama.
“Remember, you are not the stars”- famous Dave McClelland quote to new announcers
