Bar's Leaks Jr. Drag Racer Spotlight: Carly Ellingson
Three-time Track Champ ready to move into the 7.90 bracket

RAPID CITY, S.D. - In just three short years of racing, and three Track Championships to show for it, Jr. Dragster driver Carly Ellingson will be moving into the 7.90 elapsed time bracket after her 13th birthday this summer in pursuit of a fourth championship in her Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair backed entry. Ellingson will compete this season at Sturgis Dragway in Sturgis, S.D., where she won her first championship, Douglas Motorsports Park in Douglas, Wyo., where she won her last two championships along with Oahe Speedway in Pierre, S.D. The team also plans to attend the NHRA Western Conference Finals in Denver, Colo., in July.

Ellingson, 12, when not on the track attends North Middle School in Rapid City, S.D. She is also active in basketball, volleyball and track. She currently has a 4.0 GPA.

At the track, her Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair backed team is a family operation. Her Crew Chief is father Cary while her mom Jo keeps track of the team's records. Carly Jo's sister Stevie is in charge of keeping the car and trailer "spotless." Carly and Stevie are both accomplished singers and have sang the National Anthem at several events. Carly hopes to pursue singing professionally one day.

"I really like being a part of the Bar's Leaks team and wearing the Bar's Leaks uniforms," said Ellingson. "They really make me feel and look more professional. I think it gives me a lot of self-confidence, especially when I'm at a track where I don't know anyone. I think when I'm too old to race Jr's, I'd like to move into a door car."

"We're very thankful to Clay Parks and Bar's Leaks," added her father Cary. "Thanks to their support from Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair, Rislone Engine Treatment and The Counts Car Club, Jr. Drag Racing will be a big part of her life for a long time."

Clay Parks, Vice President of Marketing & Development for Bar's Leaks and Rislone, is happy to have Ellingson as a part of the Bar's Leaks team.

"It is amazing to watch these young drivers like Carly," stated Parks. "Carly's drive to learn and win is so strong. Not only is she an excellent driver, but a wonderful student. We are very pleased to have her represent our Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair product line."
