SAN ANTONIO, TX – The young brother duo of Cody and Zach Barklage are proving to the world they have what it takes to win a World Championship in Super Chevy Show, Aeromotive Nitro Coupe racing. 20 year old Cody Barklage is now several rounds ahead of the pack in first place, with brother Zach on his heels in third. With only three races left in the 2007 season, the team knows they must keep up their performance and win rounds.
“I have a decent lead in points now, but the season is far from over,” stated Cody Barklage. “Tony Williams can still move ahead, and we simply cannot count him out. We must finish as strong as we started, and that means we have to continue to go rounds, and hopefully win a few more. My Lucas Oil / Torco Racing Fuels GTO is strong right now, but we can’t be too comfortable.”
Zach Barklage went on to comment, “With Cody in the lead, we need to step my car up some. It will be a challenge, but it is possible for me to finish second in overall points this season. I will definitely have to be on top of things, but it can be done. Our plan is to go out and race as consistent and clean as we can and hopefully we’ll be able to gain some valuable ground on the competition. We suffered some mechanical problems two weeks ago at the last Super Chevy, but with things lined out, I am confidant in what our team can produce.”
Overall, with the ending of a positive season, the team is excited with the results. With the possibility of taking their first World Championship, both Cody and Zach know each round win will count. Keeping their eyes focused on the ultimate outcome, the entire team is striving to achieve the highest possible standards.
Barklage Racing would like to acknowledge U.S. Marine Corps, Lucas Oil, Taylor Cable, Torco Racing Fuels, NGK Sparkplugs, Goodson, Goodyear, Lake Race Products, P & A Drywall, Mark Barklage Drywall, Moreland Well Drilling, Weld Wheels, Aeromotive Fuel Systems, and Super Chevy Show.
