BRISTOL, TN (September 20, 2007) – Zach and Cody Barklage are back on the National Event circuit this weekend during the Super Chevy Show in Bristol, Tennessee. With a small points lead, Cody Barklage is sitting No. 1 in Aeromotive Nitro Coupe points; Zach Barklage is running well and in No. 3.
With a big win just last weekend at home during the Street Machines Shootout at Ozark International Raceway, Barklage is hoping to take their momentum into the event in Bristol .
“We had a great weekend last weekend,” said Cody Barklage. “We had a lot of tough competition, but I was able to hold onto the lead. I was the No. 2 qualifier and my brother Zach was the No. 3. He went all the way to the semi’s when I took him out. It is always fun to race at home, but to also pair up against my brother made the event a little more special.”
“We are now concentrating on advancing and going rounds in Super Chevy competition,” Zach Barklage went on to say. “Last weekend the US Marine Corps, 57 Chevy performed well, but it was the weekend for my brother. I had him off the line, but his car just out-horsepowered me. That was in the past, and now we are looking to the future. We have a chance to really gain, both my brother and I. We plan on stepping things up and seeing where we can go.”
With only a few races left in 2007, each round win brings the team that much closer to their ultimate goal of a Championship season.
