Alright I have dead air, is it raining in Dinwiddie, or are things just running behind?

D

I guess the IT guys didn't block it from me today. Wahoo! :D

I just tuned in to hear the rain delay music. I think the NHRA needs to update their music selections.

Nope....it's the designated 'rain delay' music for a reason! lol

That is what we need, lose a session or two to rain. Put MORE pressure on less sessions for qualifying :D

David is in the house, Karl is at the races, D is in the place, RAY WHERE ARE YOU?? Let's get this show back up!!!!

It amazes me that the people running these events don't run the pro's earlier in the day when there is a chance of rain!
I realize there is a curfew before they could run the Fuel Cars but it isn't 4PM
I bet....

The front has moved through and the track is being dried now. From the looks of the radar, we should be OK from here on out, but green cells were popping up out of "nowhere" just south of us a while ago.

What may get really interesting is if we lose a Pro session. If I'm not mistaken, that will trigger the new qualifying rules which insert Countdown contestants into the order regardless of qualifying results.

At least we got the sportsman stuff for today finished. Stay tuned.

Thank you for the update Dan!! Really appreciate it!

Dan,
I was just thinking about this. The way I understand it is if the PROs lose 1 session due to weather then the 4 countdown drivers are guaranteed a spot in the show on Sunday. This could get real interesting!

I think that starts only in the last 2 races. If not does that mean Force qualifies????????

The previous posters are correct and my previous message was incorrect. I just checked with the NHRA staff here and they have confirmed that the guaranteed spots only occur after Las Vegas and the next stage of the Countdown.

Sorry for generating any confusion.

Bob Frey just said in a pefect world they will be racing at 7pm and there will only be 1 session.

Bob Frey just said the pros will run at seven e.t. Not to beat a dead horse, but I'm so glad they moved the race from Joliet,Its been nice and sunny here In Illinois I'm sure they would have had a hard time getting any racing In today.
