LAS VEGAS --Mike Ashley made run after run in the 4.70s during qualifying to qualify strong. A slip-up just past the eighth-mile mark was enough to break that streak during the first round of the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals in Las Vegas.
The two-time Pro Modified champion and driver of the Knoll Gas – Torco Race Fuels Funny Car outreacted Del Worsham and led him for much of the first half of the race. Ashley’s Dodge Charger slipped out of the groove and that was the opening that Worsham needed to bridge the gap.
Ashley entered today’s final eliminations as the 5th quickest qualifier with a 4.725, 331.36.
