Anyone ever race at Ardmore? Is it still open? We ran there in the mid to late seventies. Before the races began someone had to idle down the track to scare the cows away from the track. The return road was so bad the dragster had to be towed back down the strip. We used to run an event called the Cow Pasture Nationals. This was the most fun I ever had around racing.
This was also the track Lee Shepherd died at. We saw them many times testing there.

Looks like they are still in business.

They are still there and have a big nostalgia show planned for Memorial weekend. Ezra Boggs told he's planing on showing his AA/FC "Moby Dick" and perhaps making a pass.

I drive by there all the time but have never had the nerve to stop there.
All because of what happened on that fateful day MARCH 11,1985 when LEE SHEPARD lost his life there RIP LEE.......YOU ARE MISSED......

No doubt he would have had alot of unbroken Pro Stock records still today!;)

It's definitely still open, I did a little bracket racing there last Spring in my Mustang. They only race 1/8 mile now (thankfully) and the new owners are spending some money on the joint. Nice folks and a fun little place to race.

That's good to hear about Ezra, I haven't spoken with him in a few years... hope the car gets down the track OK... who's driving it?

He has restored it and had it there last year on display. It looks great. When I had lunch with him last week he said if his shoulder would allow it he would make a squirt or perhaps a pass.

Is the Hightower fellow still hanging out with him? I kinda thought he might end up being the pilot.

Ron Morrison runs his TA/FC there quite often.

Now there is a great bunch of guys! I always try to find their pit spot when at the races. Always time to shoot the breeze and enjoy life. That is the way to have fun racing. :D

Are you guys in for the nostalgia Cordova thing in June? Or your trip to Eddyville? Looking forward to seeing ya..my offspring is as well!! hehe

I believe the team will be there, but I have retired from the seat. There's no single reason I made the decision. Many, many things played a role.

As for the Black Reign team, they will continue to thrive. Kerry sets the car up too good for anybody to fail, so they'll keep on kickin' that ass!

Tell the offspring I said Hi and I may run into you guys along the way somewhere even though I'm not driving.

I go down and run at Ardmore a couple of times a year. They still have the CowPasture Nationals. That one of the races i go down for.
