Any Less Oil Downs with 1000 FT?

In Denver there was none in eliminations and only a couple short delays during qualifying.

The friday qualifying sessions were not stopped any time for cleanups. As I mentioned before, it might have been coincidence, but nevertheless--no downtime for cleaups on Fri. at Denver. However, if this reduction in downtime proves to be attributable to 1000 ft racing, I have the feeling that as the crew chiefs start stepping on the combinations to get to the 1000 ft mark sooner, I kinda think the engine carnage will begin again.

Cory Mac banged one pretty good in the first round. Don't know how bad the carnage was. That's the only one I can remember from the rails. I seem to remember one of the FCs may have popped a relief panel, (Not the body one.) but can't remember for sure.

Everyone around me was saying "geez, this is weird, we're going to be done by a little after 4:00". Everything was so smooth and clean. The only time I remember the tractor being scrambled and it being an "oh no, not again" was during the alky classes. In fact, it was almost a pain in the rear (literally) since there weren't the usual "stand up and walk it off" breaks you usually get :)

If 1000' means no oildowns, and LIVING DRIVERS, I'm fine with it. Now... let's figure out how to get this same combination working at 1320'.

Gotta' get rid of the rev limiter.

We are seeing what happens when the cars are on it, by seeing what happens when they are not on it (prior to 1000').

the cars are on the verge of traction as it is before they go 1:1, so "leaning on them" will result in tire smoke.

Limiter=KABOOM:(

No limiter= no KABOOM.:)

My whole reason for being in favor of 1000' racing is they are not on the damned thing for long, if at all.
