A/Fuel driver Joshua Hart got screwed by the NHRA's system today when his side of the tree never lit up, then they told him 'tough luck' for their failure.
I’m guessing the reason for no rerun was he probably would have lost anyway. Fricke had a .052 light and a 5.314 run compared to Hart’s 5.351. So for Hart to win the race he would have needed a .014 light. Not saying that Hart could not cut a light that quick but very unlikely unless he was smashing the loud pedal before the tree dropped. Hart has a car that can compete for a championship so I would hate to see something like this cost him at seasons end.
Back in the mid-70s at Indy, a tree malfunction messed up a run between 2 floppers. There was a rerun. WP was pres and Uncle Jack was the event director.
Pretty odd. Pre-Stage and Stage shut off at the exact same time, so you know the car wasn't creeping or anything. He must have left on seeing the bulbs go out.
