Hey Capps, Do you REALLY think that Zappy has friends?
Alan
You must be really f'ing bored to even start this thread....gawd damn.![]()
I believe NHRA should come up with some new mandatory safety devise to prevent this from happening in the future.
No need to get upset. There are a lot of good folks on here, both young and old, racers, crewmen, and spectators. All with one common denominator, we all love dragracing. I was interested in, and respect their opinions. Nothing more, nothing less.
In the future if you see a thread, or a post for that matter, with my name on it simply don't bother to read it. No need to get vulgar, totally uncalled for.
Enjoy your day Sir.
Each person in the shut down area should have a spotter and NHRA should make it mandatory that all crew members/driver should wear a helmet anytime the car is not in the pit and safely on the jack stands.![]()

Any opinions on this gang ??
A noun of direct address, when placed at the end of a question like that, needs a comma before it, or the question means somthing entirely different...
Just sayin'...
The reason I asked, "What gang?" was to try and determine just which gang he was asking about..
It was "Any opinions on this gang?"
not "Any opinions of this, gang?" QUOTE]
When I used the word " gang", I was referring to our group of people here. The members and contributors of the message board, Nitromater. I in no way meant to refer to the Summit racing team as a gang. On the contrary, I'm actually a fan of both Jason line, and Greg Anderson. Their on track accomplishments in both national event victories and season championships speak for themselves.
I certainly hope that this clears up any undue stress, or Confusion that my lack of proper placement of a comma seems to have caused you Sir.
Enjoy your holiday weekend.

When you used the word "gang" it was a noun of direct address.
You were, absolutely, addressing your question to the board members... or so you intended...
But that's not how it reads without the comma. It reads like
a canniballistic, " Let's eat grandma,"
instead of inviting her to dinner with, "Let's eat, grandma."
See the difference?
I hope you do.
Good grammar isn't pedantic; it's necessary for precise communication.
The people on the 'Mater are not stupid. They are a smart bunch, easily capable of good writing. There's no downside to good writing.
Leaving out commas can completely change the meaning of a sentence (see above.)
There's no reason to allow the meaning of what you write to become lost in the fog... You contribute far too many worthwhile posts to chance the meaning of their content going astray.
Not stressing me out at all; just trying to help make a more user-friendly board with a minimum of ambiguity. It works better that way...
You have a great weekend too, Paul!
