Here's my deal, for any NFL fans out there. Give me the Skins at RFK over FedEX Field any day of the week. Read into that what you will. I've only been to Indy 5 times and I know you guys have been each year mostly. But I love it. All this ultra modern upgrade bs is bs. Watch the cars on the track and eat the steak in town.

Yeah allen.. thats a good blog to keep up with... and he's great to follow on twitter.....

Never been to Indy for a drag race but have been to the Oval part of the facility a time or two..... and i have seen worse places to hold an event... hell what use to be on of the biggest dirt oval races ever was in West Virginia and had NO grandstands.,.. just a side of a hill with lawn chairs and a few recliners burried inot the hill side ....lol.. attracted more racers than any other race and more fans than any other race... no electricity so all races were in the day time.. the toilets were so bad one year that the fans burned them down..... but still the race got bigger and bigger every year...

only reason the race doesnt happen anymore is a very bad storm flooded the valley and washed out the two bridges.. YES bridges in the valley that the Race track ran across in each end of the race way....

There's room for improvement, but I don't see Indy as a dump. I guess I like the fact that a lot of it is still the same as it was decades ago. If I had to choose,I'd like to see more focus on the event itself. The Traxxas shootouts are a big step in the right direction, but really, so much more could be done, the possibilities are endless. Could you imagine if you hired the Bader's to promote the U.S. Nationals? And said, "go make Indy really stand out again"? I think the money paid to the pros needs to get bumped a bunch, $75K for the fuel cars is nowhere near enough. I realize it's the age-old dilema, so many classes sharing the pot, something circle-racers don't have. But still, how about 250k for the fuel classes, and 100k for PS? AND a bonus for doubling up with the shootouts.

The first thing the Baders would do would be to clean it up.
