Aussie T/F crewchief Bruce Read has just landed, and will be co-crewchief on the car.

That was very cool. I love the car. I'm from the old school. Simple, yet well executed schemes look best to me. I've never been a big fan of all of the "busy" paint schemes you see today.

I agree on the paint jobs. What manner of Toyota is this alleged to be? It shares the "Solara" body with the others in FC, but has the Camry sedan grille decal (as do the others).
Funny Car needs some fresh looks. Slow 'em down, ditch the bomber empanage, and race them to the quarter mile say I.

He tunes a fuel dragster down here in Australia that his brother drives and has been doing it for a long time now. He also has good relationships with the Kalitta's and has spent time with them in the past. Bruce is a good guy, drop by and say hi to him at your next event.

Not sure Chris. I know Jim O is tuning, my friend is an assistant and a couple others from Australia are traveling with my mate. Should be a good mix.

That is the way she has come across to me. She also is really in love with the sport. I remember seeing her at Houston a couple of years ago and she was just chillin' at the fence watching it all. I really hope she does well. I'm sure she will. Eugene, are you and Team Bode going to do the Winters next year? Be nice to finally put a face to the name.

Steve Read, or is that the Pom?

Bruce is Jim Read's son and Phillip Read's brother. Phil drives the family TF'er which his Dad ised to drive. Bruce is the CC.

You are correct when asking is Steve Read "The Pom". He is of no relation and his father was coincidentally name Jim also.

There is also a father/son team that races in Australian Top Alcohol named Jim and Steven Reed (note the spelling).

Really glad to see Alexis getting the press she deserves and bringing much-needed attention to the NHRA brand of drag racing. She obviously 'gets' what it means to have this kind of media coverage and she is more than willing to do it.
