Congrats to the Certifiably Hot Al Ackerman with the Win at Indy, striding for the championship for the Professor and riding a lot of momentum going into e-town's points race this weekend.
26 consecutive round wins. Had it not been a parts failure at Lebanon Valley that number could very well have been 36. Winning Indy gives him 662 points, with a 30 point at LVD and a 52 point showing at Maple Grove he can better with 2 Division 1 races remaining. Congrats to Al, Dave, Glenn, Jan, Kathy, and everyone on that team, they really have that ProStart chassis on "kill mode".
There have been a lot of everyone's this year-Al has had to train lots of people to crew for him because many of us have not been able to get to many races because of work or family obligations. His crew guy at Indy this week, Dave, was first with him at Norwalk-Santo Volpe got him to come and help. Dave has only seen Al go to the starting line and then see his win light come up on the scoreboard. He is one hell of a mechanic and a terrific worker.
BTW, Al's round record when he has gone to the starting line this year is 40-3. The only possible racers in the history of drag racing who may have had better records in a year are John Meyers and Frank Manzo.
