Legendary Apollo 13 Astronaut Who Brought Crew Home Safely Dies at 97
James Lovell, who read Genesis from space and helped Apollo 13 return from the brink, has passed away at 97.

Jim Lovell, the Apollo 13 commander, who uttered the immortal phrase, “Houston, we’ve had a problem” passed away today.
In 46 years of my work life, the only time I ever called in sick to work when I wasn’t actually sick was when Lovell, Fred Haise, the two survivors of the Apollo 13 incident and Gene Kranz, the Apollo flight director, gave a talk at The University of Arkansas about 10 years ago.
