very classy words, my heart goes out to all of the kalitta teams and team members and families. suszie please tell your bros were very sorry! when robert took the grren and idled down the track and see jimmy and hillary smile was great to see. my love for the entire kalitta organization is even greater seeing them bond even greater in the face of this terrible tragedy. rest im peace scott, you will never be forgotten.

I havent been able to pull the right words together to say anything on the mater about this. Still dont think I can.
I never knew Scott or any of the racers for that matter but I always looked up to Scott as the 'cool kid' on the track. His rough and tough look always made me think of him as the bad ass on and off the track.
I was camping this past weekend and when I got back in cell range had a text message from a friend who is not the biggest fan but learning. She said "Did you hear about Scott Kalitta" and I hopefully thought he got a victory that past weekend but had a bad feeling that was not the news I was going to get. Once I found out for sure I hurt, I hurt real bad.
I have watched and cried over Roberts single pass now about 10 times. I dont think it will ever stop making me cry but I like to remember and that helps.
My father works the top end for NHRA on the fuel cars. I called him Sunday night. My father always reminded me of Connie. Grumpy, stubborn and without much emotion. Not saying that is who either is, just how they came across to me. My Dad was having a hard time of things and it made me realize just how real it was to people inside the sport. I cant even begin to imagine how Connie, Scotts wife and kids and the entire Kalitta motorsports team felt that day or any day.
Again, no words I can say will express or share my feelings.
All of my thoughts and sympathy to the entire team and family. As Susie mentioned earlier, its great to see Scott's burnouts in the sky

Scott's growing up years were my time in racing. This really hurts alot and still does. Not much to say except that all my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and the extended family......
Next time you look up in the sky and think those are contrails, well they are not. It is Scott and Eric doing burnouts. So when you see that smile and remember them......
