Just one more trivial thread to waste your valuable time with. 
Try this. The next time you see someone with the hiccups, pull out a one or five dollar bill. Hold it in their face and tell them it's theirs for their next hiccup. It turns out that you can't hiccup if you're trying too!
I can't even remember where I heard this, but I've been having fun with it for many years without losing a penny. When Rex/Rexfiles was down here for the Bristol race he overheard that a lady sitting next to him was going for a soda in an attempt to stop her hiccups. He remembered and offered her a buck. It is so funny to watch the face of someone who is first frustrated because they can't stop, and now they're mad because they can't get just one out to get paid for it!
I heard that it's the same as when you're trying to go to sleep and can't, as opposed to when you're trying to stay awake to watch a show and can't.
