Yes, brings back nice memories. I too remember watching many sessions, anticipating those oh-so-awesome 4 second runs that were few and far between.
I did see them back then running mid 6's at 225mph. And it was just as exciting. My point on the runs at 4.85 et at 275 or so was that was safer at 1320 ft. than, low 4's at 300mph. at 1000ft.
