The late Pete Robinson really knew how to run one of these engines on nitro. I saw him run a 6.50 ET at Lions, a few weeks before he was killed at Pomona Winternats. I think the 6.50 was quickest ever for the SOHC at the time. Was said that Pete ran the engine like two 4 cyls combined, maybe because of the chain? Prudhomme ran a AA/FD with one of these engines, said it made more HP thanm the Hemi.
