4 Race Swing, 4 "Legit" Friday Night sessions

Looking at the 4 race swing for the month of June all 4 events had Legit Night Sessions, either as planned (Norwalk & Bristol), by weather (Joliet) or by long stoppage (Englishtown). Like I said, note to NHRA, at least make this swing of events in 2011 have legit night sessions again, E-Town was "Candy-land" this year as I predicted (just not quite as great as it came to be) and it was a "1 day only sale."

still say one of these tracks with lights and no noise
ordinance should have sat. night elims.

E-Town on Sat night has the same noise curfew as Friday at 10pm, I say the ones that the NHRA Qualifying Broadcast is later should get the night sessions, example, this year @ E-Town, the broadcast was like Midnight, makes sense to do a night session, it would depend on if they can show the broadcast later on. A Touchy situation.

E-Town always had two night sessions years ago - it was the teams that complained about finishing so late Saturday night and then having to get up so early for SUnday eliminations to start that changed that. I think 1994 may have been the last with both? I'd have to check all my old programs and look at the schedule to verify that fact.

Doesn't E'town get a specific number of loud nights every year? If they ran Saturday night, would they then not have to drop another loud night event from their schedule?

I thought it was more of a TV thing, because when E-Town went to TNN from NBC (& ESPN for the Pro Stock Challenge), the Pro Stock Challenge finals was live.

as far as the Noise Days, sat already a noise day as long as it fits between the time frame of 10AM & 10PM (The "10/10" rule on Fri/Sat).

That was the most disappointing aspect of Vegas 1 this year ... NO night session on Friday or Saturday. On Saturday, I left the track, had supper and was home before the sun went down ... It was bizarre.

On the subject of nighttime qualifying - I live in east central MN, so it is a tradition to go to the Brainerd National event every year (Zoo = Woo!). Anyway, they don't have friday night qualifying - ever. I heard they didn't for two reasons: Local noise laws and the fact that they don't have the lighting for it.

After looking into it, the noise law as far as I can tell is bogus:

***
From the MPCA:

No standards adopted by any state agency for limiting levels of noise in terms of sound pressure which may occur in the outdoor atmosphere shall apply to:

E. Motor vehicle race events conducted at a facility specifically designed for that purpose that was in operation on or before July 1, 1996.

***

With that, why has BIR not constructed some lights, or brought in temporary lights to have a Friday night qualifying session? I thought maybe they have a light pollution law or something. Does anyone really know why they never hold Friday night sessions there?

Brainard is in a similar situation to Sanair in Quebec back in the day, I remember the 1990 Le Grandnational Molson that they play the clip on ACDelco.com Vision when there was no lights @ Sanair and when Bob Newberry had an oildown in his loss to Paul Johnson (Whatever happened to Paul?) that forced TF & FC into Monday AM.
