2027 Schedule

NHRA already announced the first 4 races, I just got a message from Rt. 66 saying their race is July 9-11. I would imagine others will start to come out soon.

The first thought that popped into my head was the possibility of a night time qualifying and eliminations. I also wondered if maybe that opened up a weekend to squeeze Maple Grove into an open May date.

Because NASCAR date at Joliet is Jun 27

IMO the start in february is too early. lots of big gaps all the way thru may.
why not start in pomona in early march, then phoenix, and gators moves to early april and charlotte mid april.
i do like the idea that a gap might be for a potential return of maple grove at some point?

I like that Pomona is the only double up. There are enough tracks that are National event caliber that we don't need two races at any track.

So the northeast U.S. gets two races within a three-week period and that's it.

I've always thought there was no reason to make sure they were not on the same day.

I might wager a 20oz bottle of Vernor's (the BEST ginger ale) that MG will come back to NHRA and VMP won't. But who knows. VMP seems to have a Liz Taylor/Richard Burton relationship with NHRA. Here and gone and here and gone.....

Definitely yes on the Vernors

Used to mix Vernors and Wild Turkey to make some really good highballs. Mixed much better than other types of ginger ale. If that's your thing it's definitely worth trying.

Seems like it's getting more difficult to find Vernors these days.
