I received my annual ticket renewal form this morning for the 2026 Brainerd event. It doesn't refer to it as the BIR Lucas oil nationals. It just says the Brainerd nationals. Has Lucas pulled their sponsorship from the Brainerd national event? It looks like the divisional race just prior to the nationals is still sponsored by Lucas. I think that it was still a Lucas event in 2025? Maybe this has already been discussed, and I've just missed it.

Just one "kid", right? Isn't Morgan Lucas an only child?
I hope Lucas isn't starting to pull back their support of drag racing. They have done so much for several decades now.

No Sir, Morgan is not an only child. Forrest and Charlotte had a total of seven children however only four are living they are Dwayne Lucas, Mike (Genny) Lucas, Kathy (Gary) Bowling and Morgan (Katie) Lucas. Morgan is CEO and his wife Katie is the President not sure if the other kids are involved in the business..

I first heard about it around BIR Nationals time in August.
People have been wanting the Northstar Nationals name brought back for years and years. For some reason or another, it just hasn't happened.
As soon as the new Michigan national event was announced as the "Great Lakes Nationals" my phone started going off with a bunch of texts - "Have you seen what they are calling the new Michigan event?? It gets a fun name??!!!" LOL
Forrest loved the Brainerd event. He'd be out in the zoo making laps on the golf cart, and stopping to visit with people just like any other person. I think he truly enjoyed it A LOT. He had the Lucas Oil jet dragster towed out to the zoo to start the big bonfire at "Camp Pallet" a couple years. He was even given the starter button and cranked it up himself.
Thanks for all the great years Forrest and Lucas Oil.
