2 turbo cars in the Pro Mod final at Norwalk

Wonder how long it will take NHRA to realize that what they did was not enough???

Was I talking about Pro Mod???

Oh... I meant PS Bike/Harleys.... the 20-pound penalty that works so well...

Who's minding the store?

The 4 valve head should be declared illegal immediately. Actually, the bikes themselves should not be allowed to compete until the parts are available to other racers.

Um, Hector Jr had the pretty much the same ET as Andrew Hines. If he had a better light, he might have been the one hoisting the wally.

I don't care. V&H are running an engine combo that only they can run, and that's completely unfair. George Bryce had to make the Buell engines and parts available to other competitors, why doesn't V&H have to do the same? And why does V&H get to run a V-twin with no pushrods and 4 valve heads when the Buell's have to run V-twins with the exact same displacement with pushrods and 2 valves?

How many Buells are made anymore?

(Hey-this is cool-we're hijacking a Pro Mod thread to talk about bikes!) :D

That's because the bike answer is obvious. Make all 4-valve engines carry the same weight per cubic inch, regardless of the number of cylinders (I can hear the Eagles screaming about this from here!!!) LOL!.

The Pro Mod question is a little harder...

It is soooo not the turbo cars to watch. It's the Nitrous teams that have the # 1 combo. This was a hot weather race, turbo's finally dominated.

I don't care who you are, that there's funny

on suzukis and harleys.....

depends on where you go....japanese bikes are made for riding, dirt, road, both....you have to head to the twisty canyons to catch them....

posers on harley's have extra money to buy neato costumes....so they're more visible. RUBs suck.

Patrick,

You think turbos don't like cool weather?

My friends with Buick Grand Nationals say their cars become virtually undriveable when the weather turns cold, due to the increase in power...

Gonna be interesting...

Chris,

You might want to chase that link you provided down to the very bottom right hand corner.

Yeah, I meant the man, not the brand. A PSM Buell owes little more than the name and basic architecture to him for the most part, anyway.

I've been an Erik Buell fan for decades, and I guess I'm just happy he's still creating neat stuff.

Parity's a tough road to travel.

Parity would actually be possible if the rules were written to allow all comers the chance to be competitive. Inasmuch as no one seems to be blatantly cheating, that doesn't seem to be the case at this point.

Probably won't happen without homologation.

Oh I wasn't saying that, just saying maybe they were best for the heat who knows. I go to the Shakedown at E-Town every mid october, you don't need to tell me lol you see some crazy stuff when those turbos kick in. That and 3 million Mustangs.

Not to mention their penchant for taking the baffles out of the exhausts so we can hear them coming from a mile away. If any of us owned a car that loud we would get a pile of tickets before we get out of the driveway, but any weekend warrior DBag Harley owner can annoy everyone to his heart's content just to say "look at me" before putting it on the trailer and taking it home.

Loud pipes save lives.

I like the sound of almost every internal combustion engine ... well maybe a couple of exceptions, almost all junior dragsters and most diesels. Don't get me wrong, my kids had a bunch of juniors and we put 20k miles a year on our rig running around with them ... tons of fun. But that particular tone they make still gives me chills.
