KING, NC (May 15, 2011) – Rickie Smith and his Nitrous Injected Carolina Drilling/Coffman Tank Trucks Chevrolet Camaro went into the Atlanta Dragway with hopes of getting back the points he lost over the last few weeks.

Stanfield goes home early from Southern Nationals

COMMERCE, Ga. – It wasn’t the kind of weekend Greg Stanfield expected to spend in the Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. Sunday’s eliminations were way too short.

Stanfield and the Nitro Fish/Coffman Tank Trucks GXP Pro Stock team struggled during qualifying, starting a season-low 14th. And he didn’t have lane of choice in his first-round match against Allen Johnson.

Tony Pedregon earns quarterfinal finish at Atlanta

COMMERCE, Ga. – Tony Pedregon parlayed his quick reaction time Sunday with his best run of the weekend into an opening-round victory over Jim Head en route to a quarterfinal finish in the Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

Pedregon, the No. 12 qualifier, left the starting line first (.111-second to .122) and his Nitro Fish Funny Car covered the 1,000-foot track in 4.156 seconds at 304.25 mph. Head (No. 5 qualifier) finished with a 4.154 at 301.94 mph.

NOT THE WEEKEND STANFIELD WANTED

BOSSIER CITY, LA (May 15, 2011) – Greg Stanfield arrived at the Atlanta Dragway just one point out of the Full Throttle Championship point standings, however after a rough weekend Stanfield is more than ready to move on.
After qualifying in the 14th spot, Stanfield and team decided to change it up a bit. Tweaking their set up that they had been running the whole weekend; they changed everything come Sunday.
