Finals Broadcast Replay (eastern time): 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, June 16 on FS1
Qualifying: J.R. Todd was the No. 9 qualifier at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. He made his best qualifying effort in the final session Saturday afternoon when he reached the finish line in 4.154 seconds at 310.20 mph.
Eliminations: Todd lost to Daniel Wilkerson in the first round; the cars left together and were in a very close race when the DHL GR Supra spun the tires just past half-track, and Wilkerson raced to the win. It was Todd’s only first-round loss of the season.
Unofficial Point Standings: Todd leaves Bristol in third place in in the NHRA Funny Car point standings. He trails second-place Matt Hagan by 33 points and leads fourth-place Jordan Vandergriff by 15 points.
Todd on Bristol: “You hate to lose first round, but overall, it just wasn’t our best weekend. Those things happen, and I like the overall direction our DHL team is heading. We have some time to regroup and be prepared for a good race in Norwalk later this month.
