LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. – TJ Zizzo has never been one for beating around the bush. His feelings regarding his DNQ at Pomona reflects that policy.
“Pomona sucked!”
However, the second-generation NHRA Mello Yello Series Top Fuel pilot also isn’t one for dwelling on the past and this weekend’s NHRA Gatornationals at Auto Plus Raceway in Gainesville, Fla., will give him and his PEAK Motor Oil team a chance at both redemption and their first round win of the 2013 season.
“I feel more comfortable going to Gainesville,” Zizzo said at the team’s shop near Chicago. “We have worked on many items since Pomona. Hopefully our fuel system will be happy. Our first run of the weekend will give us information that we can use moving forward.”
Another reason for Zizzo’s positive attitude is meteorological in nature. “It hasn’t stopped snowing here since we got back from Pomona!” he said. “The entire team is looking forward to some Florida sunshine.”
If there is anything Zizzo could be better at then driving his PEAK Motor Oil rail at 300+ mph, it’s entertaining fans, and he will have plenty of opportunities to do that this weekend at the PEAK hospitality tent near the Zizzo Racing pit area.
“PEAK’s hospitality tent will be the fun place to be throughout race weekend at the Gatornationals!”
